Most iPhones sold in Ghana are either brand new or UK used. Both can be great buys if you know what to check.
What "UK used" means
A UK-used iPhone is a pre-owned phone sourced from the UK market. Quality varies a lot between sellers, which is why the checks below matter.
Comparison
| Brand new | UK used | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Highest | Lower |
| Battery | 100% | Varies: check battery health |
| Condition | Sealed | Varies by grade |
| Warranty | Depends on seller | Depends on seller |
At MachineWura, every pre-owned iPhone passes our 30-point inspection and has at least 85% battery health, and each product page states the warranty that applies.
Checks before buying a used iPhone
- Battery health: Settings > Battery > Battery Health. Look for 85% or more.
- Activation Lock: make sure the phone is signed out of the previous owner's Apple ID.
- Network: confirm it works with your SIM.
- Screen: check for dead pixels, burn-in and touch response everywhere.
- Face ID or Touch ID, cameras, speakers and microphone: test them all.
- Parts history: Settings > General > About shows whether key parts were replaced.
- Charging: confirm it charges with your cable.
Which should you buy?
- Choose brand new if you want a sealed device and the longest life.
- Choose UK used to get a newer model for your budget, as long as it passes the checks above.
