How Buying a Laptop From MachineWura Works

Buying a laptop from MachineWura takes four steps: choose a laptop on the website or ask us on WhatsApp, place your order, receive it within 24 hours in Accra or 2 to 3 days elsewhere in Ghana, and check it. In Accra you inspect the laptop at your door and pay on delivery. Outside Accra you pay before dispatch by Mobile Money, card or bank transfer. Every pre-owned laptop passes a 30-point inspection with at least 85% battery health before it is listed, and items that arrive defective or not as described can be returned within 7 days. MachineWura is an online electronics store in Accra, Ghana that sells brand new and UK-used phones, laptops, tablets, home appliances and backup power, and supplies offices and schools. Step 1: How do you choose the right laptop?

Start on the laptops page. You can filter by condition (brand new or UK used) and by price range, and sort by newest or price. Each product page shows:

• The condition: brand new (sealed) or UK used (pre-owned).
• The specifications: processor, memory, storage and screen.
• The price.
• Stock: how many are available.

Warranty varies by device. Ask us for the terms on any laptop before you order.

Step 2: How do you place an order?

On the website. Add the laptop to your cart, go to checkout, and enter your delivery details. Choose your payment method:

• In Accra: Pay on Delivery is available, or you can pay online.
• Outside Accra: payment is made before dispatch by Mobile Money, Visa or Mastercard, or bank transfer. Online payments are processed by Paystack.

On WhatsApp. Message 0550 314 351 with the laptop you want, or with what you need help choosing, and we will take your order there.

After ordering, you can follow your order on the track order page using your order number.

Step 3: How does delivery work?

• Accra: delivery within 24 hours.
• Elsewhere in Ghana: delivery in 2 to 3 days.

Step 4: What should you check when your laptop arrives?

In Accra, Pay on Delivery means you can inspect the laptop at your door before you pay. Wherever you are, these checks take about ten minutes and are worth doing before the delivery rider leaves:

1. Check the box and the laptop match your order: model, condition, colour.
2. Turn it on. It should reach the login or setup screen within a minute.
3. Check the configuration. On Windows, open Settings, System, About. On a Mac, open the Apple menu, About This Mac. Compare processor, memory and storage with your order.
4. Look at the screen on a plain white page for marks, lines or bright spots.
5. Type a few keys and test the touchpad.
6. Plug in the charger and confirm it charges.
7. For a UK used laptop, confirm there is no password screen from a previous owner or company.

Are used laptops checked before they are sold?

What if something is wrong?

Items that arrive defective or not as described can be returned within 7 days. Contact us on WhatsApp or by email with your order number to start a return. Returns cover items that arrive defective or not as described; they do not cover change of mind. Warranty cover after that depends on the device. Can you trade in your old phone?

Yes, for phones. You can trade in your current phone and pay the difference towards a new one. Each device is valued individually. See the trade-in page.

Do you supply offices and schools?

A worked example: ordering from Kumasi

Ama is a nursing student in Kumasi who needs a laptop for coursework. She messages MachineWura on WhatsApp, explains her course and how she will use the laptop, and chooses a 14-inch business laptop. Because she is outside Accra, she pays before dispatch with Mobile Money through the checkout. The laptop arrives in 2 to 3 days. She runs the checks in Step 4, finds everything in order, and turns on cloud backup with her student email. If the laptop had arrived with a fault, she would have had 7 days to report it and start a return.
